A three day weekend thats just my own. Thats what this weekend is.. I took Friday off from work and Russ has gone on a hiking trip for Ficocellos bachelor party.. Let me say that I'm glad I'm not on that trip.. Its 29 with snow on the top of Mt. Washington ... have fun boys.. glad I'm home nice and warm..

Friday was a nice warm day.. I met Russ and his friends at work for lunch at the Burlington mall and then since I was there decided to go shopping.. Didn't find anything I really wanted.. It was also a little warm in the mall, I tend to get put off by the smallest of things..

Friday evening I decided to go to a show at the Regent Theater. I tend not to go to the things by myself, but I had a great time. The show was a benefit for Mapendo and the main act was an acapella group called Five O'Clock Shadow .. The best part was that Sean Altman opened for them. Three quarters of the audience had never heard Sean before so there was alot of laughs for his songs such as; The Notion, and Taller Than Jesus. He did a great job opening for the group.. Five O'Clock Shadow (FOCS) started out with a reunion of sorts.. They rotated 5-7 people on stage for songs.. They were okay.. not a big fan of the classic group.. The voacal drummer was amazing, but thats really the only thing I liked.. They were more a group for the older portion of the crowd.. Mainly doo-wop music with a few others mixed in..after intermission the Boston group of FOCS performed and they were amazing. Its funny to see the difference with the generation gap.. A few of the older crowd left after intermission because the Boston FOCS was a louder group with heavier and more current music.. I was just impressed that they managed to put on a 3 hour show.. I had a good time.

Saturday morning started with me heading to Concord for an eye appointment.. It was the whole deal with numbing the eyes and dilating them.. Let me say how not fun that is.. For the first time I realized the connections of the tear ducts to everything else.. A few moments after the tech put the drops in my eyes I could taste them.. not very good tasting.. then I had to blow my nose and it came out yellow..mmm... I've been interested recently in getting tinted contacts.. As of today that thought went out the window when I found out that tinted contacts cost twice as much.. bummer.. I really wanted to get some green eyes.. more than my hazel already show off.. I had a bitch of a time getting errands done after the eye appointment.. Dilated eyes really hurt in the sun.. even with sunglasses on.. I did the best that I could stopping at Arena Farms on the way back for some Monkey Bread (mmm) and then stopped at Home Depot to get a tomato stake, some super glue.. and an attempt at getting some vinyl privacy slatting for the front porch... We're missing a piece and its been bothering me for a couple months.. I only need about a 4' by 1' piece and unfortunetly Home Depot only sells them 4' by 8' and for $27.. ouch.. I had decided to pony up till a guy there told me they couldn't cut it for me.. I'd have to do it at home with a hacksaw... sheesh.. I don't think so... Maybe I'll make Russ do it this summer to ease my suffering :-)

i'm thinking of going to church tomorrow morning.. I pass the Grace Episcopal Church on High St. in Medford every day and I'm curious to see what it looks like inside.. That all depends on how late I stay up tonight and if I wake up in time :-) Russ should be back sometime in the afternoon and hopefully we'll be able to go and see Star Wars: Episode III.

3 more days of work and counting..
